The nurse will care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery and procedures. Common patient diagnoses include CABG, heart transplants, and complex cardiac cases. Experience with vascular surgery procedures such as AAA repair and angiograms is essential. The nurse will also manage patients with cardiac conditions like STEMI and heart failure. Nurses are expected to titrate various drips including Heparin and amiodarone. The nurse will work with Clinical Associates who assist with patient care. The unit features a high level of teamwork and a commitment to quality patient care. Weekend and holiday shifts are required. Floating to sister units may be necessary. The dress code consists of solid royal blue and white attire. Nurses on this unit will be responsible for monitoring cardiac rhythms.
