Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care/Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large, urban hospital required. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required. First-time travelers are not accepted, but those with 2 years of experience at a Level I academic medical center may be considered. Description: This unit serves adult progressive surgical, oncology, palliative care, and progressive acute care patients receiving chemotherapy. Travelers are expected to float frequently to meet staffing needs. RNs must be prepared for higher patient ratios for lower acute patients. Floating to different units may be required to meet facility needs. Units may include various departments within the organization, including but not limited to medical-surgical, trauma, and observation units. Care teams consist of certified nursing assistants, care technicians, transport team, paramedics, and occasionally licensed practical nurses. 4 weekend shifts are required out of 8 possible in a 4-week period. Weekend work includes Saturday and Sunday shifts. Night shifts include Friday and Saturday nights. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Requests for time off must be submitted with the application and are limited to two weeks. This facility maintains a 100% nicotine-free policy. RNs must wear designated scrubs with the required logo. Compliance with all policies and procedures of the facility is expected. Teams include various interdisciplinary support services to ensure optimal patient care. This position involves management of various medical drips and administration of medications.
