Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week Experience: Recent experience with electronic medical records system License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred Acute care facility experience preferred Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to patients' health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing safe and humane patient care. Provides learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members. Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team. Participates in discharge planning to provide continuity of care.
