Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:15 AM)
⏰ Schedule: 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours Guaranteed Weekly
On-Call: None
Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every Other Weekend & Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Deliver direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, monitoring, and patient education.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to adjust care plans.
- Monitor patients requiring progressive care, including neurological and complex medical conditions.
- Serve as a team leader and resource for support staff while ensuring quality patient outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, evidence-based nursing practices, and regulatory standards.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, alarms, and changes in condition.
- Float to other PCU and Med-Surg units as needed based on staffing requirements.
Unit Information
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Patient Ratio: Target 1:4–5, up to 1:6
- Float Requirement: May float to other PCU/Med-Surg floors as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Neuro PCU experience required
- Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Active Michigan RN License (LARA/Nursys verified)
- Active AHA BLS Certification
- Active AHA ACLS Certification
- Active NIHSS Certification
- Current PCU Skills Checklist (within 1 year)
- Two supervisory references completed within the last two years
- Permanent address required with submission
- Local candidates accepted (within 50-mile radius for one 13-week contract only)
