Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Duration: Full-time, Permanent Shift: Varied (10-hour Day Shift or Night Shift; 12-hour shifts available) Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week (80 hours per two-week pay period) Experience: Minimum of three years experience; 2-3 years experience in Critical Care preferred License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon Certifications: American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Must-Have: Recent acute care hospital experience preferred Acute care hospital experience in the past two years or intermediate/progressive care experience preferred Description: This position involves applying the nursing process to the care of patients. You will teach patients and significant others about their care. Documentation of patient care in the medical record is required. Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team will be essential to coordinate overall patient care. You must be able to read and write legibly and converse effectively in English. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are necessary. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs are important. Demonstrating effective teaching skills is required. You will respond effectively to patient crisis and emergency situations. Proficiency in using a computer, including accessing the internet, word processing, and documenting in an electronic medical record system is necessary. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location must be maintained.
