This role includes conducting comprehensive physicals every two years. Strong phlebotomy skills are important due to the volume of blood draws. The position supports a population of individuals participating in training programs. Nurses are responsible for observing, assessing, and recording symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. They make nursing rounds, take and record vital signs, and administer prescribed medications and treatments. Nurses monitor patients under restraint and provide immediate medical attention to emergencies. This includes administering first aid and arranging transportation to healthcare facilities when necessary. Nurses participate in staff development and education, training, and orienting new employees. Clerical tasks involve charting and recording all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information. They complete required reports and document relevant patient information. Nurses may also organize and oversee emergency response teams. The position requires skill in operating medical equipment and dealing with a variety of situations. Nurses must be able to write meaningful, concise, and accurate reports. Physical fitness is essential for performing the duties of the role. Working conditions may include exposure to communicable diseases.
