Job Title: RN Psych Profession: RN Psych Specialty: RN Psych Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating (Days, Evenings, Nights) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of inpatient adult psych experience License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: - Proficient in using an automatic medication dispensing system - Proficient in the use of psychotropic medications and understanding of their side effects - Ability to assume the role of charge nurse - Competent in completing admissions and discharges - Competent in the use of IV pumps and diabetic patient care Description: This position is for an Adult Psychiatric Registered Nurse. The unit treats adults aged 18 to 65 years with diverse mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients. Patients may include those requiring detoxification and some medically acute patients, including intravenous therapies, CPAP, wound care, and diabetic care. The clinician to patient ratio is 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients. Rotating shifts are required for day positions, with shifts available from 7 AM to 7 PM, 11 AM to 11 PM, and 7 PM to 7 AM. Night positions do not require rotation. Floating to other areas may be necessary. The charting system used is electronic medical records.
