The role involves assessing patients' mental health status and recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders and behavioral problems. Responsibilities include taking thorough patient histories, observing behavior, and utilizing diagnostic tools. You will be developing individualized care plans tailored to the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues. This includes setting goals, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. You will be responsible for administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions. Crisis intervention is a key aspect of this role, providing immediate and short-term support to patients in crisis. De-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management will be utilized. Effective therapeutic communication skills are essential for building trust and rapport with patients. You will monitor patients for both physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs and medication effects. Nurses are required to wear blue scrubs as part of the dress code. The position requires coverage for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week, including weekends. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract.
