  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks

  • Weekly Pay:$1900 to $2100
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with psychiatric, behavioral health, and substance use disorders
  • Perform thorough mental health and physical assessments upon admission and throughout hospitalization
  • Monitor patient behavior, emotional status, and response to treatment plans
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and psychiatric treatments as prescribed while monitoring for side effects
  • Conduct suicide risk assessments and implement appropriate safety precautions
  • Respond promptly to psychiatric emergencies and assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, coping strategies, and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety protocols, behavioral health regulations, and infection prevention standards
  • Promote a therapeutic, safe, and supportive environment that encourages patient recovery
Requirements
  • Active Utah Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact RN License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Psychiatric nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience caring for adult behavioral health and psychiatric patients
  • Strong assessment, crisis intervention, communication, and de-escalation skills
  • Experience with medication management and behavioral health documentation
  • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced behavioral health setting
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered mental health care
