Join Our Dynamic Mental Health Team as a Travel RN!

• Location: Kansas City, MO
• Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Unit Names: ADOL, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and VINE

Unit Highlights:

• Number of Beds:
  • ADOL: 18 (Ages 12-18)
  • Serenity: 24 (Lower acuity adult unit)
  • ITU: 32 (Higher acuity adult unit - thought disorder diagnoses)
  • SRAD: 16 (Senior lifestyle patients)
  • VINE: 9 (Lower acuity adult unit)
• Nurse Ratios: 8:1
• MHT Ratios: 12:1
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Responsibilities:
  • Cover three 12-hour shifts daily, including weekends.
  • Floating policy: Utilize staff where greatest need is present.
  • Adhere to ICARE values: Integrity, Compassion, Always, Respect.
  • Utilize AIDET communication principles.

Key Qualifications:

• Must Haves:
  • Ability to assess mental health status, including recognizing psychiatric disorders.
  • Experience in developing individualized care plans.
  • Proficient in medication management and monitoring effects.
  • Crisis intervention skills, including de-escalation techniques.
• Advanced Skills:
  • Therapeutic communication to build rapport with patients.

Certifications Required:

• BLS
• CPI
