Position requires working three 12-hour night shifts. The nurse will provide care to adult and geriatric patients, many of whom may have co-morbid medical conditions. Experience with dementia, depression, Parkinson's Disease, bipolar disorder, and anxiety is necessary. The nurse will assist with pre-op preparation for Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) as needed. Presence in the milieu is required, along with the application of restraints when necessary. The role will include charge nurse responsibilities as needed. Patient to nurse ratios is 1:6 during shifts. Interdisciplinary support is available, including teams for IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The nursing staff will float within the service line to other Behavioral Health units as required. Weekend work is expected every other weekend as part of the position. The selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate experience and skills in working with patients displaying severe psychiatric disorders and those requiring medical attention.
