Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night, Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Pediatric Behavioral Health License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) Must-Have: Must have a vehicle for this assignment. Description: No first timers. Pending license for a Psychiatric Registered Nurse required. Position will float between units per needs. On-call is not required. Every other weekend is required. Block schedules are not required. Expected patient ratios are 5:1 during days and evenings, and 10:1 during nights. Forty hours of orientation are required. Candidates may float to other units based on skill sets. Travelers may be required to float to other facilities to meet the needs of the organization. Must have a vehicle for this assignment. The unit primarily cares for pediatric and adolescent patients aged 6-17 years. Typically, patients are medically stable. Patients may present with issues related to anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use, suicidal behavior, and trauma-related disorders. Staffing ratios on nights may include two Registered Nurses for a total of 20 beds. Weekend coverage is required. Pre-approved time off includes one request. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Candidates should not reach out to facility contacts directly unless for an agreed-upon interview. Modules are non-billable and average 16 hours to be completed prior to starting. Time spent on modules is self-reported. Completion is recorded in transcripts. Candidates must commit to working three of the five holiday shifts. Requests for specific scheduling must be made upfront during the application process. Inflexibility beyond the contracted schedule may lead to contract termination. References are required covering one year of experience within the last three years. Travel experience is required.
