Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active state nursing license required Certifications: BLS, MOAB Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with patients having anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use issues - Familiarity with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques - Capability to manage assaultive behavior and suicidal ideation Description: This role involves providing specialized nursing care within a behavioral health setting. The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts during the day. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The daily census is expected to be around 13 patients. Staffing ratios are maintained at 6 patients per nurse. The unit will focus on various diagnoses, including mood and personality disorders. Responsibilities include medication administration and management of patient behavior. The nurse will also participate in patient education and support during crises. On-site interdisciplinary support will be available from various teams, including physical therapy and social services. This is a smoke-free facility. Travelers are advised to keep requested time off to a minimum, preferably no requests for weeks off during the contract. All travelers must have current active licenses in hand upon submission.
