Job Title: Behavioral Health Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid 5x8-Hour (15:00 - 23:30); Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:30) Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years in behavioral health/psychiatric nursing License: Permanent RN license required Certifications: BCLS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Description: Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing. An overview of the scheduling expectations will be discussed during interviews. Candidates should be prepared for discussions about full-time equivalent status, shifts, hours, and weekend commitments. Nursing staff are expected to wear business casual attire. Travel nurses may be reassigned to inpatient units if patient census decreases. Therefore, candidates should either bring navy scrubs to work or keep a pair in their locker. Nursing staff may be required to float to any age population when scheduling necessitates. Travel nurses will be expected to swap shifts with coworkers to accommodate time-off requests. There will not be an additional pay rate for charge RN responsibilities. The facility expects a strong stance against accepting candidates who would test positive for certain substances on drug screenings. All candidates must pass a drug screen on the first attempt to continue with onboarding. Travelers should submit any time-off requests with their initial profile. All registered nurses must possess a permanent RN license at the time of submission. Prior permanent employees must wait one full year before applying for a travel position. Candidates will be required to complete certain compliance and documentation requirements prior to onboarding. The health system has specific policies regarding substance use and compliance requirements. Compliance fingerprints must be completed in the designated state and for specific regulations. Travelers are expected to meet all standards and guidelines outlined in the onboarding process. The unit is dedicated to providing care for adults with mood disorders and anxiety disorders. Interdisciplinary support is available within the unit. End-of-year performance evaluations and continuing education modules are part of staff responsibilities. The daily census may include about 17 patients, and the unit consists of 22 beds.
