Description:
The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse will work within a state-of-the-art behavioral health unit.
The unit is known for having an excellent work environment and experienced staff.
The patient population includes adults aged 18 and over with a history of legal issues.
The unit serves as the last stop before community placement for patients.
There is a full team of rehab staff for group programming, as well as social work staff and psychiatrists.
The nurse will participate in the care of patients diagnosed with mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, major depression, and substance abuse issues.
The nurse will also manage chronic medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, and COPD.
Candidates must demonstrate trauma-informed, compassionate care, and flexibility.
The ability to adjust to changing patient needs and speak easily with others is essential.
The nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:9.
The unit has 46 beds and utilizes point-of-care blood glucose monitoring and electronic health records.
The dress code requires blue scrubs, and certain attire such as open-toe shoes and provocative clothing are not permissible.
