Key Responsibilities of the Travel Nurse:
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing acute or chronic mental health conditions
- Assess patients' psychiatric and physical health status and implement individualized care plans
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor effects or side effects
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment, following de-escalation and crisis intervention protocols
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to support holistic treatment
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and treatment adherence
- Accurately document patient progress and interventions in accordance with facility standards
Requirements of the Travel Nurse:
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification (CPI or PMAB preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years' recent psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience
