Key Responsibilities of the Psychiatric RN:
Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to patients with acute and chronic behavioral health needs
Conduct assessments, monitor symptoms, and manage medication administration
Implement therapeutic interventions and crisis-prevention strategies
Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and support staff
Maintain a therapeutic environment aligned with trauma-informed care principles
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the EMR
Requirements of the Psychiatric RN:
Active New York RN license (or ability to obtain before start)
BLS required.
Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health experience
Strong de-escalation, communication, and assessment skills
Ability to work effectively with patients experiencing mental health crises
