Join MiraVista Behavioral Health Center, an innovative 84-bed inpatient hospital in Holyoke, MA, dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care for individuals experiencing psychiatric distress and co-occurring substance use disorders. As a Registered Nurse, you will be a vital member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team focused on championing patients and fostering a non-judgmental, supportive environment.
This role involves delivering direct and indirect patient care within a safe therapeutic milieu, primarily serving an adolescent patient population, alongside adult and geriatric individuals. You will actively contribute to individualized treatment plans by developing, implementing, and documenting appropriate goals and interventions tailored to patient strengths and presenting psychiatric problems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu in alignment with facility core principles.
Collaborate effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and documentation of individualized patient treatment plans.
Develop appropriate goals and interventions informed by patient strengths and psychiatric problems.
Be willing to float to different units as needed.
Assume charge nurse responsibilities when required.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in adult, adolescent, and geriatric inpatient psychiatric nursing.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Willingness to float to various units and take charge assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience with Restraint Reduction de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
Skills & Competencies
Advanced knowledge of Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse treatment modalities.
Ability to apply the nursing process from a Trauma-Informed Recovery model of care.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and general computer skills.
Crisis management, time management, delegation, coaching, and team-building skills.
Flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stressful situations calmly and professionally.
Shift Details
Type: Full-time, 8-hour evening shifts.
Hours: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.
Days: 5 days per week, including every other weekend rotation.
Contract Length: 13 weeks.
Start Date: September 28, 2026.

Licensing Requirements
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Massachusetts.
