Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nursing Director for Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Services to provide leadership and operational oversight for multiple patient care areas within an acute care hospital setting.
This leadership role partners closely with executive nursing leadership and is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services. The Nursing Director ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while maintaining clinical excellence, staff development, and effective resource management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for assigned patient care units.
- Support strategic nursing initiatives and organizational goals.
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Promote nursing excellence, clinical competency, and staff development.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice across multiple units.
- Manage staffing resources and support operational efficiency.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.
- Support regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain 24/7 accountability for assigned areas.
Requirements Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program plus:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a healthcare-related field.
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a healthcare-related field required.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of psychiatric nursing leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated hospital operations and leadership experience.
- Experience managing clinical teams and patient care services.
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Must be licensed, certified, or registered as required by applicable regulations.
