• Schedule: Weekend rotation required; self-scheduling environment
• Patient Population: Adult behavioral health patients

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state eligibility as applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of recent psychiatric nursing or behavioral health experience
• At least 1 completed travel assignment required
• BLS certification required
• CPI and MAB preferred
• Experience caring for patients with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, substance use disorders, trauma-related disorders, suicidal ideation, and self-injurious behavior
• Comfortable with locked-unit care, seclusion protocols, involuntary/voluntary commitment processes, and emergency behavioral interventions
• Ability to de-escalate crisis situations and manage assaultive behavior
• Experience administering psychiatric and supportive medications
• Willingness to precept new team members when needed
• Must be able to work every other weekend
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult behavioral health and inpatient psych patients
• Support patients across inpatient psychiatric units and the psychiatric emergency setting as needed
• Perform assessments, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in behavior or condition
• Use de-escalation, crisis intervention, and safety protocols to maintain a therapeutic environment
• Administer medications and monitor response to treatment plans
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Assist with crisis management, physical hold protocols, and seclusion procedures when indicated
• Collaborate with social services, pharmacy, respiratory, radiology, and other support teams
• Participate in ongoing unit-based training, including aggressive patient management education
• Promote dignity, safety, and recovery-focused care for every patient
