Job Summary: Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse position located in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves providing patient care in an adult behavioral health facility specializing in mental health and substance use disorders. The RN will support patients through de-escalation, physical intervention, and safety protocols, ensuring a compassionate and safe environment for both patients and staff.
Job Details:
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Kentucky Registered Nurse license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification obtained on site, and at least 6 months of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in behavioral health or psychiatric settings preferred.
Float: Candidates should be comfortable floating throughout the unit and open to schedule/shift flexibility.
Additional Information:
Support within the department includes leadership backing for safety and operational changes, medical and psychiatric provider availability, and security support.
The facility utilizes Cerner electronic medical records and has onsite restraint chairs and quiet rooms.
Candidates will undergo orientation consisting of three 12-hour shifts, including four hours of orientation on the Child and Adolescent unit.
Scrub color is galaxy blue, with free parking available.
Start date: August 31, 2026.
