Job Summary:
Psychiatric Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Coos Bay, Oregon. This role involves applying nursing processes within the scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing to provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and document patient progress in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Psychiatric Unit
- Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Oregon nursing license (must be willing to obtain if not active), at least 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience, recent hospital experience within the last 5 years, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, and demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching patients and families about illness, medication, and wellness promotion; ability to respond effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations; proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
- Additional Information: The RN will assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and learning needs; assist with daily activities and medication administration; perform wound care and skin assessments; support invasive procedure assistance; and provide patient education. Documentation of care in electronic and paper formats will be required, ensuring completeness, clarity, and timeliness.
