Psychiatric Travel Nursing Job Details

Psychiatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience required
• Psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, or substance use treatment experience preferred
• Ability to work 8-hour evening shifts and every other weekend
• Strong psychiatric assessment, communication, teamwork, and patient-safety skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care to patients across a broad age range

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an acute inpatient behavioral health environment
• Complete comprehensive physical and psychiatric assessments and monitor changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established orders, policies, and safety standards
• Support individualized treatment plans for patients experiencing mental health, behavioral health, and substance use disorders
• Promote a therapeutic and secure environment through effective communication, de-escalation, and crisis-intervention techniques
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, patients, and families to support continuity of care
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and communicate significant patient updates to the appropriate care team members
