Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Current BLS certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of start date
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
• Previous behavioral health nursing or psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and de-escalation skills

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of assigned behavioral health patients
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Initiate nursing interventions, administer medications, and carry out ordered therapies
• Support patients and families through education, therapeutic communication, and emotional support
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with professional nursing standards
• Monitor equipment, follow safety procedures, and help maintain a clean, secure, and therapeutic environment
• Respond appropriately to psychiatric and behavioral health needs while promoting patient safety and dignity
