Adolescent Psych RN

Shift: 12-hour shifts
Hours: 34.5/week
Unit: 27-bed child/adolescent psych unit
EHR: Allscripts
Requirements: 1+ year psych experience, pediatric clinical experience, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI or PMCS before start
Preferred: BSN
Patient Population: Children ages 5–11 and adolescents ages 12–17 with ADHD, depression, mood disorders, autism, intellectual disabilities, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance-use history, and placement needs
Ratios: 1:6; minimum 3 nurses on the floor
Skills: Therapeutic communication, de-escalation, safety monitoring, dual medication sign-off, and care for medically stable pediatric psych patients
Weekends/Holidays: Every other weekend; at least 1 major holiday during holiday season
Float: Travelers float first; may float to adult/child psych, psych emergency/crisis, detox, or rehab
