Job Title: OR RNFA Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Robotics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 12.0 hours Experience: Two (2) years of OR experience preferred License: NY License as a Registered Professional Nurse Certifications: - BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) - CNOR Certification Must-Have: - Da Vinci surgical experience in the following specialties: - Robotic Urology - Robotic GYN - Robotic Colorectal - Robotic Surgical Oncology - Robotic Thoracic - Robotic General Surgery Description: The RN First Assistant (RNFA) is a highly trained RN. The RNFA must have both CNOR certification and completion of an accredited RNFA program. The RNFA collaborates with the surgeon and healthcare team to perform safe operations with optimal patient outcomes. The role includes practicing perioperative nursing and demonstrating necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment specific to clinical practice in the operating room. The RNFA works in collaboration with and follows the surgeon's direction during the operative phase of the perioperative experience. When not in the RNFA role, this position requires performing duties of an OR staff RN. Robotic surgery experience is preferred, including experience in scrubbing and circulating. This role requires evening on-call responsibilities and rotating holidays. CNOR certification is mandatory. The position entails a combined role of circulating, scrubbing, and RNFA.
