Job Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: RNFA Duration: 220 Days Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours Experience: Minimum of 5 years required License: Valid RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CNOR, PALS Must-Have: - Proven experience in a perioperative setting - Familiarity with electronic charting systems is preferred Description: Registered Nurse First Assistant needed for day shifts in the Surgery Recovery Unit. Functions as a perioperative team member. Uses information from a variety of sources to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Works under the direct supervision of the surgeon. Functions within the full scope of licensure. Accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care. Provides direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in the assigned area. Develops, implements, and manages an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care. Incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their support groups, and healthcare providers. Facilitates timely and effective communication. Adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and applicable regulations. Promotes a quality and highly reliable patient experience. Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice. Requires experience with various surgical procedures including, but not limited to: abdominal hysterectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repairs. Must be able to utilize surgical instruments and techniques in the operating room. Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control measures. Capable of caring for a diverse patient population across various age groups.
