Job Title: RNFA (Perioperative Services) Profession: RNFA Specialty: RNFA Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Shift Hours per Shift: 5 x 8s; 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, or 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM; Monday to Friday. Call required. Experience: One year of full-time experience in the operating room required. License: Current RN license in state of practice required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred. Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) preferred. Must-Have: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Description: Assists surgeons and anesthesiologists and coordinates the flow of equipment, supplies, and staff during surgical procedures. Assures patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care. Participates in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment. Competent to circulate in the operating room during surgical procedures. Knowledgeable of and consistently applies the principles of aseptic technique. Competent to safely operate all equipment routinely utilized in the operating room. Competent to prepare patients for surgery, including safe and appropriate anatomical positioning. Competent to perform pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care planning and assessment following established criteria. Competent to safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials from operative procedures. Competent to access facility information systems to retrieve and utilize pertinent information for the provision of patient care or in the performance of job-related responsibilities. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to safely and appropriately fulfill job-specific responsibilities related to patient safety, security, emergency preparedness, emergent patient situations, and medical equipment management. Documents temperature of tissue/allografts, verifies package integrity, and delivers to sterile field per manufacturers' guidelines. Efficiently uses downtime for job-related or unit-specific work, including chart auditing, cleaning and restocking, and training. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
