Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days | Flexible scheduling options including 3x12-hour shifts, a combination of 8-hour and 12-hour shifts, or 5x8-hour shifts depending on departmental needs. Rotating weekends and holidays as needed. On-call and callback required.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a Registered Nurse First Assistant in a surgical setting, supporting operative procedures with a focus on neuroscience cases.
- Float as required to other Neuroscience locations and the main operating room.
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using the EPIC electronic health records system.
- Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage as determined by departmental needs.
- Fulfill on-call and callback obligations as outlined during the onboarding process.
Required Qualifications- Active New York State Registered Nurse license — must be in hand prior to submission.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse First Assistant.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records — this is a hard requirement.
- Willingness and ability to float to multiple locations within the neuroscience service line and main OR.
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior travel nursing experience is a plus; first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Familiarity with neuroscience or neurological surgical procedures.
