Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

Key Responsibilities- Serve as first assistant in a high-volume OR environment handling 18–20 cases per day across 7 suites
- Support a broad range of surgical specialties including Laparoscopic, Bariatrics, Ortho, Neuro, Uro, GYN, and ENT procedures
- Operate within a 1:1 and 2:1 staffing ratio alongside OR technicians and charge nurses
- Fulfill on-call requirements including night call one week per week and two 12-hour weekend call shifts per month with a 30-minute response time
- Float to Pre-Op and Post-Op areas as needed
- Document and chart using Cerner EMR
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- RNFA certification or qualification
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Ability to fulfill call requirements including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Experience with Cerner EMR
Preferred Experience / Skills- Scrubbing experience preferred though not required for RNs
- Familiarity with a high-volume, multi-specialty OR setting
- Experience with Phillips telemetry systems
