Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical experience for a contract assignment at a leading academic medical center in New York City. This opportunity is open to both local and travel nurses.
The RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult rehabilitation and medical-surgical patients, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to promote recovery, improve functional outcomes, and deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical patients.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
- Monitor patient progress and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and families regarding rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
- Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications- Active New York State RN License
- BLS Certification
- CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) Certification (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Rehabilitation and Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred for travel candidates (not required for local candidates)
Education- BSN preferred
- Associate Degree in Nursing accepted with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program
