Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active Illinois license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Strong neuro skills Description: The position involves providing care in an acute rehabilitation setting. The unit has a total of 29 beds. Staffing ratios are 5:1 during the day and 6:1 at night. Common diagnoses include neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac, and complex medical cases. Registered Nurses are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehabilitation. Nurse aides are present on the unit with a ratio of 1:9/10. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services are available. The unit may use CPAP/BiPAP equipment during the night for sleep apnea management. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holidays are also part of the rotation, every other holiday. There may be floating to other units, but training is required for specific areas. Scrub colors are flexible, but t-shirts require approval. Orientation includes a combination of classroom and preceptor-led training. Documentation is conducted using a specific charting system.
