Travel Nurse RN - Rehab - $2,308 per week in Peoria, IL

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Acute Rehabilitation Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active Illinois license required or application process initiated Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Strong Neuro Skills Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in an Acute Rehabilitation setting. The unit has a total of 29 beds. Patient ratios are 5:1 during the day and 6:1 at night. Common patient diagnoses include neuro, neurosurgery, amputations, multi-trauma, cardiac issues, and complex medical conditions. Nurses will not be required to titrate drips, with only heparin being a common titratable drip. Telemetry is available, but monitoring is not performed by RNs; nurses will use telemetry packs. Registered Nurses are required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehabilitation. House supervisors are present, and there are no designated charge nurses. Nurse aides are available on the unit with a 1:9/10 ratio. The rehabilitation team includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Respiratory therapy equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP for sleep apnea. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend requirements every other weekend. Holiday rotation will occur every other holiday. There is no on-call or standby requirement. Floating to LTAC or med-surg is required; floating to HAU is only expected if trained. Scrubs of any color are permitted, but t-shirts must be approved. Orientation includes two days of classroom learning followed by 2-3 days with a preceptor. Training on specific rehabilitation documentation is required. The charting system used is EPIC. This position is in a post-acute care setting.
