Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Rehab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of acute rehab experience required License: State license required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years acute rehab experience Description: IMPORTANT! A strict attendance policy has been implemented to advocate for the patient population. Any RN contractor who is absent from a scheduled shift or is more than 20 minutes late for their scheduled shift three times will be terminated effective immediately. Situations such as a communicable disease or hospitalization with supporting evidence will be reviewed in favor of the contractor. This policy will begin on 6/1/2024. Rehabilitation services within the inpatient setting are provided by professionals who possess a depth and breadth of knowledge for patients who are acutely ill across the life span and multiple body systems. Clinical reasoning skills are used to evaluate patients with unstable medical conditions, consider surgical interventions, collaborate and communicate with other healthcare professionals, and use an evidence-based approach for customizing treatment. Evaluation results are critical in helping to create an optimal plan of care and identifying discharge considerations. Clinical judgment skills are utilized to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. The role includes assessing, monitoring, detecting, planning, and taking appropriate action to prevent potential physiological complications and promoting the optimal level of health. Accountability for integrating care within the scope of practice licensure, relevant education, and experience is essential. Reports to the shift Team Leader and is accountable to the Department Manager. Policies and procedures are utilized to guide job duties. Level-specific criteria are evaluated annually. Key Responsibilities Include: Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized written plan of care based upon a physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessment consistent with patient and significant others’ changing needs and goals. Demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning through certification, advanced practice, higher education, and literature review. Exhibiting leadership through the sharing of knowledge, being a clinical resource, and serving as a professional role model. Demonstrating effective communication through collegial relationships and interdisciplinary communication. Enhancing time management skills and assisting others to improve the overall performance of the team. Performing other duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed by general and unit-specific competency-based objectives.
