Job Summary:
The healthcare professional specializing in Medical Surgical Rehabilitation in Boston, Massachusetts, will support a 30-bed adult inpatient rehabilitation unit focusing on stroke and brain injury recovery. This role involves providing patient care during rotating shifts, with responsibilities including monitoring neuro and musculoskeletal disorders and assisting with various medical procedures.
Job Details:
- Shift Schedule: Rotating shifts, including 12-hour evening and night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with 8-hour shifts from 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. every other weekend.
- Required Qualifications: Certification as a registered nurse, current license to practice in Massachusetts, minimum of 3 years of experience in adult neurological and musculoskeletal patient care, proficiency in EPIC documentation, competency in PICC line care and blood draws, IV antibiotics, TPN, tube feeding (NGT, G-tube, GJ-tube), EKG, wound care (vac and simple dressings), Foley catheterization, bladder irrigation, trach care, blood transfusion, ostomy care, drain management (JP drain), and restraint application.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in adult neuro and musculoskeletal rehabilitation settings.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The unit features private rooms and specializes in stroke and brain injury patients. Care may occasionally be provided to patients with multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons disease, or post-operative orthopedics such as hip and knee replacements.
