Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

A Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide care in a medical rehabilitation unit specializing in cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injuries, deconditioning, and neurological diseases. The unit is equipped with 24 beds and focuses on delivering excellent patient care through a collaborative approach.

Shift Details

  • Options for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Shifts available: 3x12 hour nights or 4x12 hour nights (7p-7a)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements

Unit Description

The care team for each patient comprises a physiatrist, nurse practitioner, nurses, therapists, and a social worker, working collaboratively to create individualized care plans. Patients engage in therapy for up to 3 hours a day, Monday through Friday, with an average length of stay of around 2 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Required RN Experience: 2 years, with at least 1 year in a relevant specialty
  • Preferred experience in acute care rehabilitation
  • Charge experience is a plus
  • Current WV/Compact RN License is required (can start with a pending license but must have an active license to begin work)
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required

  • Cerebrovascular diseases
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Amputations
  • Neuromuscular disorders
  • Severe deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events

Additional Information

  • Orientation held every other week on Thursday
  • RN may be floated within scope to meet facility needs as required
  • Open to accommodating block schedule requests, to be discussed during the interview
  • Scrub colors: Royal Blue/White or combination
  • Charting system: Cerner
  • Parking: Free parking available in parking garage for travelers
