Job Opportunity – Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN – West Virginia

Schedule: 3x12 Night Shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, weekdays with some weekends. Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 in emergencies. Weekend blocks (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday) may be considered.
Highlights:
13-week contract with possibility of extension
Progressive care environment with varying acuity levels including cardiac, post-surgical, and medical patients
36-bed unit with daily census of approximately 34 patients, primarily cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, and general medical/surgical cases
Cerner electronic medical record system
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
8-hour orientation provided; non-billable modules to be completed prior to start date
Requirements:
Active RN License (West Virginia or Compact state license required; pending licenses accepted for submission)
Minimum 2 years of total RN experience required
Minimum 1 year experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry; 2 years experience in Stepdown/Progressive Care preferred
Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Proficiency in IV starts, cardiac telemetry, and interpretation of cardiac rhythms/strips
Experience with skills including but not limited to: blood product administration, central line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, BiPAP/CPAP, heparin and insulin protocols, ABG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
Cerner charting system experience required
Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
