Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Stepdown/Telemetry RN for an 18-bed Interventional Care Unit specializing in cardiac, post-procedural, and complex medical patients. Candidates must be proficient in telemetry and comfortable managing post-cath, respiratory, cardiac, and higher-acuity stepdown patients.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute-care hospital RN experience
- Recent Stepdown, PCU, or Telemetry experience
- Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Comfortable providing post-cardiac catheterization care
- Must be able to manage complex cardiac and respiratory patients

- Cardiac arrhythmias
- Chest tubes
- Tracheostomy patients

- CIWA and alcohol withdrawal
- Peritoneal dialysis
- High-flow oxygen and BiPAP
- Post-pericardiocentesis and thoracentesis care
Staffing and Support
- Approximately 5 RNs per shift
- Clinical Nurse Coordinator may carry 2 patients
- 2 Licensed Nursing Assistants
- Unit Clerk support
- Bedside shift report and patient-centered handoff expected
Equipment
- IV pumps
- High-flow oxygen
- BiPAP
- Kangaroo feeding pumps
- Hoyer lifts
- Sara Stedy devices
- Bladder scanner
Scheduling
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend
- Schedules are built in 4-week blocks.
