Prime Time Healthcare Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Travel Stepdown/Telemetry RN

Facility: Portsmouth Regional Hospital
Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Unit: Interventional Care Unit
Shift: Three 12-hour shifts per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Unit Size: 18 beds
Typical Ratio: 1:4
Charting: Meditech Expanse
Trauma Level: Level II

 

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Stepdown/Telemetry RN for an 18-bed Interventional Care Unit specializing in cardiac, post-procedural, and complex medical patients. Candidates must be proficient in telemetry and comfortable managing post-cath, respiratory, cardiac, and higher-acuity stepdown patients.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute-care hospital RN experience
  • Recent Stepdown, PCU, or Telemetry experience
  • Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
  • Comfortable providing post-cardiac catheterization care
  • Must be able to manage complex cardiac and respiratory patients

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS

Common Patient Population

  • STEMI and NSTEMI
  • Post-PCI patients
  • Groin and radial access management
  • Post-cardiac catheterization care
  • Chest pain rule-out
  • CHF
  • COPD
  • Cardiac arrhythmias
  • Chest tubes
  • Tracheostomy patients
  • Pacemaker patients
  • CIWA and alcohol withdrawal
  • Peritoneal dialysis
  • High-flow oxygen and BiPAP
  • Post-pericardiocentesis and thoracentesis care

Staffing and Support

  • Approximately 5 RNs per shift
  • Clinical Nurse Coordinator may carry 2 patients
  • 2 Licensed Nursing Assistants
  • Unit Clerk support
  • Bedside shift report and patient-centered handoff expected

Equipment

  • IV pumps
  • High-flow oxygen
  • BiPAP
  • Kangaroo feeding pumps
  • Hoyer lifts
  • Sara Stedy devices
  • Bladder scanner

Scheduling

  • Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Every other weekend
  • Schedules are built in 4-week blocks.
