Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Ohio
Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Every other or third weekend required. Floating within the hospital system is required.
Highlights:
Specialized PCU setting with adult and geriatric patient population
Diverse case mix including burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
Unique specialized procedures including burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
First-time travelers accepted; minimum 1 year of PCU or step-down experience required
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
Pre-approved time off available (one occurrence)
Requirements:
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down unit experience
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, central line management, wound care, and basic dysrhythmia interpretation
Experience with arterial lines, blood product administration, PCA pumps, IV insulin protocols, and surgical drain management preferred
Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or charge nurse)
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
