Compensation & Schedule Details
- Hours & Shift: Night shift (36 hours per week, 1830–0630).
- Contract Length: Travel contract (Target Start Date: October 12, 2026).
- Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Every other weekend; minimum of 2 holidays during the contract timeframe. RTO must be requested upfront (maximum 7 days per 13-week contract). Blocked scheduling is generally not approved unless weekends-only.
- Call & Arrival Rule: If placed on call and called back in, must arrive within 30 minutes.
Key Policies & Unit Scope
- Distance & System Rules: Strict 50-mile radius rule (driver's license required at submittal). Candidates cannot be current full-time, part-time, or PRN employees with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and/or Dignity) within recent history.
- Grooming & Testing:Artificial fingernails are strictly prohibited in all patient care areas (refusal leads to termination). Must pass an open-book Wednesday orientation exam with a 90% or higher.
- Unit Overview: 40-bed PCU (average daily census 24). Patient ratios are 1:4–5 on days and nights. Charting includes independent telemetry strip interpretation and titration of drips (heparin, nitro, dopamine, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin). Must be competent in arterial lines.
- Floating & Dress Code: May float to Med-Surg or to ICU to take PCU-acuity patients. Navy blue scrubs required.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Acute care PCU/stepdown experience with adult cardiac, vascular, and stroke populations.
- Licensure: Active Nebraska (NE) RN license or multi-state compact RN license in hand.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS required at submittal.
