# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit RN – Medical Oncology – OhioStart Date: October 19, 2026Location: Columbus, OhioCompensation: Details provided to qualified applicantsSchedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights or nights only); patient ratios 1:3 for PCU patients, 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry; flexible scheduling reviewed every 4 weeks based on departmental needs; weekend shifts variableHighlights:- 36-bed oncology telemetry unit with progressive care beds specializing in solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology patients- Oncology experience preferred but not required; nurses with ICU and PCU backgrounds excel in this role- Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, and comprehensive equipment suite- Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives- 72 hours of comprehensive orientation with interdisciplinary team support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams- Float opportunities within units of equivalent or lower acuity to expand clinical skillsRequirements:- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current PCU experience- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license)- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale- Epic charting experience required- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program- Previous travel nursing experience preferred- Strong clinical skills including interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV access and management, blood product administration, central/PICC line management, PCA pumps, cardiac drip management, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care- 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager or formal leadership role)- Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon acceptanceWhy It's a Great Opportunity:This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact caring for oncology patients in a high-acuity progressive care environment.
