Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or rotating based on departmental needs); staffing ratios goal 1:4, may be 1:5; weekend requirements variable; 16-week assignment
Highlights:
Mixed acuity surgical oncology unit caring for both PCU and Medical-Surgical patients in a fast-paced environment
Patient population includes adult and geriatric surgical oncology cases: breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive plastic surgery
Advanced procedures include chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome management, insulin/heparin drips, and chest tube care
Epic EMR system with telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response, and more
May be required to float within scope of practice to other acute care oncology units
72-hour orientation provided; one pre-approved time off period available
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current PCU/Step-Down experience
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
Epic charting system experience required
Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and surgical patient populations
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal supervisor)
