Travel Nurse RN - Stepdown - $2,300 per week in Columbus, OH

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Leukemia & Hematology Unit – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks based on departmental needs; weekend coverage variable based on unit needs

Highlights:

• Specialized acute leukemia and hematology unit caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• Goal staffing ratio of 1:4 (may flex to 1:5 based on census)
• No chemotherapy certification required for this position
• EPIC electronic medical records system
• 72-hour comprehensive orientation provided
• High-acuity medical unit with focus on blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
• Strong interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams
• May float to other Medical/Surgical Oncology units as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Experience must be current and consistent within the last 12 months
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• NIHSS certification (preferred)
• ONS Chemotherapy certification (preferred but not required)
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line management
• Competency in PICC line management, feeding tube care, and starting/maintaining peripheral IVs
• EPIC charting experience required
• Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Oncology experience preferred but not required

Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics; unit census approximately 22 patients with 24 beds

Special Focus Areas: Infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention

Equipment: GE telemetry system (B450 monitors), bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds

Vaccines: Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
