Travel Nurse RN - Stepdown - $2,452 per week in Topeka, KS

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Surgical Stepdown – Kansas

Start Date: Multiple orientation dates available starting October 2026 (bi-weekly orientations)

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation, holiday rotation required (2 federal holidays per year, plus additional spring and winter holidays)

Highlights:

• 28-bed post-surgical stepdown unit specializing in bariatric, urology, nephrology, and general surgical procedures
• 1:6 staffing ratio with supportive team environment in a Magnet-designated facility
• Epic charting system with test-out option available
• Contract length: 26-51 weeks preferred; longer contracts receive priority consideration
• Float to other post-surgical and medical-surgical inpatient units as needed
• Bi-weekly orientation with 2-3 travelers per cohort; flexibility with start dates encouraged

Requirements:

• Active Kansas or Multistate RN license (no exceptions for license issues)
• AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or stepdown experience required
• ADN or BSN degree
• No first-time travelers; experienced travelers only
• Vaccination requirements: Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella (titer or proof of series), TDaP, TB documentation, and seasonal influenza vaccine or exemption
