Travel Nurse RN - Stepdown - $2,455 per week in Topeka, KS

Start Date: October 5, 2026 (additional orientation dates available bi-weekly through November 30, 2026)

Location: Topeka, Kansas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation, holiday rotation includes 2 federal holidays per year and additional spring/winter holidays (1 holiday request permitted)

Highlights:

• 28-bed post-surgical stepdown unit specializing in bariatric, urology, nephrology, wound care, and general surgical procedures
• Staffing ratio of 1:6 providing manageable patient assignments
• Epic charting system with test-out option available for experienced users
• Contract length of 26-51 weeks preferred; 26-week minimum with longer contracts receiving priority
• Float to other post-surgical and medical-surgical inpatient floors as needed
• Work within a Magnet-designated, High Reliability Organization committed to nursing excellence and safety culture

Requirements:

• Active Kansas or Multistate (Compact) RN license with clean record required at submission
• American Heart Association BLS certification required at submission
• Minimum 1 year of progressive care or stepdown nursing experience required
• ADN or BSN degree required
• Prior travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
• Immunization documentation: Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella (titer or proof of vaccination), TDaP, TB screening, and seasonal influenza vaccine or exemption
• Flexibility with orientation start dates based on class size
