Stepdown RN – 13-Week Assignment

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Stepdown Unit and provide high-quality care to patients recovering from surgery, critical illness, or other complex medical conditions. This is a fast-paced environment where strong assessment skills, close monitoring, and effective collaboration are essential.

You’ll work alongside a dedicated healthcare team while providing compassionate, patient-centered care and gaining valuable experience in a dynamic clinical setting.

Position Overview

As a Stepdown RN, you will care for patients who require closer monitoring than a standard medical-surgical unit but do not require intensive care. You’ll monitor patient conditions, administer medications and treatments, identify changes in patient status, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support positive outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Stepdown patients.
• Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment and recovery.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and patient-centered care environment.
• Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate clinical documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• Experience working in a Stepdown/PCU or comparable acute-care setting
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
