First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.

PCU Oncology RN – Travel Contract

Unit: PCU Oncology (5 North)
Beds: 18
Patient Population: Adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU

Requirements

  • RN Experience: Minimum 1 year
  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted
  • Oncology Experience: Preferred
  • PCU Experience: Strong PCU experience accepted
  • Charge Nurse Experience: Not required
  • BLS: Required
  • ACLS: Required
  • ONS/ONCC: Current certification preferred, not required

Ratios

  • Days: 1:4–1:5
  • Nights: 1:4–1:5

Schedule

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Days: 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
  • Nights: 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend
  • Self-scheduling with scheduling balanced to unit needs

Floating

  • Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units
  • Float assignments remain at the same level of care

Orientation

  • 2 days of unit orientation

Drips & Clinical Skills

RNs may occasionally titrate:

  • Insulin
  • Cardizem

Common medications/drips include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Heparin
  • Cardizem
  • Protonix

Respiratory

  • High-flow oxygen commonly encountered

Equipment & Technology

  • EMR: Epic
  • IV Pumps: Alaris
  • Patient Lifts: Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms, with additional lift equipment available

  • Nursing Assistants
  • Charge Nurse
  • PT/OT
  • RN Case Manager
  • Social Worker
  • Educator
  • Dietitian
