Schedule: 12-hour shifts, day/night rotating or nights only. Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs. 2:1 patient ratio. 72-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• Surgical ICU specializing in oncology and neurosurgical patient populations with 12-bed unit
• Epic EMR system utilized throughout facility
• Advanced critical care procedures including CRRT, mechanical ventilation, ICP monitoring, and EVD management
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• May float to Medical ICU or stepdown/medical-surgical units as needed
• Travel nurses welcome; must have recent acute care experience within the last 12 months

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Graduation from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (one must be from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
• Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted for this role
• Annual flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Clinical Experience:

• Patient diagnoses include hemorrhagic and hypovolemic shock, sepsis, pneumonia, ARDS, craniotomy, stroke (ischemic and hemorrhagic), intracranial hypertension, and delirium
• Advanced skills required: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, blood product administration, tracheostomy management, CRRT/CVVHD, and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Special procedures: external ventricular drain management, ICP monitoring, massive transfusion protocol implementation
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula, continuous IV sedation, IV insulin protocols, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction
