- Experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps
- Epic experience required
- Previous charge experience preferred
Description:
This position requires working in a high acuity surgical intensive care unit.
The patient ratio is 1:2.
There is a float requirement to other ICUs and step-down units.
The manager can accommodate either 3x12 hour shifts or 4x12 hour shifts.
Skills required include caring for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, general post-operative care for surgical recovery patients, and transplant recovery for liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, and pancreas.
Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy is required.
Candidates must be comfortable being assigned to an emergency team if necessary.
It is essential to manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure.
Other critical skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, and ventilator management.
The unit supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
The patient diagnoses include cardiac surgery, transplant patients, general surgery, and medicine overflow.
A total of 32 beds are available, with an average daily census of approximately 28.
Candidates must be prepared to work weekends and additional shifts if required.
References may be required for clearance to start the contract.
All necessary certifications must be current and valid.
Candidates with prior experience as permanent staff must have separated for one full year before returning.
This contract is available for travelers who are over 65 miles from the facility.
