Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state RN license required Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in high acuity ICU Ability to float to other ICUs and SDUs Epic experience required Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps preferred Description: The role involves caring for surgical recovery patients in a high acuity environment. You will provide post-operative care for patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgeries and transplants. You may need to manage patients with continuous renal replacement therapy. Expectations include participation in an emergency team as assigned by management. Candidates should have experience with various critical care skills, including ventilator management and IV therapy. Familiarity with diverse patient diagnoses, including transplant cases, is essential. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team, including therapy and pharmacy. Readiness to handle a variety of procedures in a dynamic care setting is necessary. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential for success in this position. Flexibility regarding schedule is crucial, and block scheduling requests cannot be accommodated. The position entails high patient ratios, typically 1:2 on nights and weekends.
